Growing up

Mala's room is changing. She now has this dresser that I love and am proud to have in my home. When I was little it was in my room and I filled the drawers with treasures. I'm not sure where it lived prior to that but I know it used to belong to my dad's mom. It has been a project I have not had the time to approach until now and it's finally done. Now Mala can fill the drawers with her own treasures. I'm not sure how my grandmother would feel about the white a purple paint job, but I think she would be pleased to know it is going to continue to be loved by her great-granddaughter. Miss Mala also has a bedside table now which holds a cup of water and a box of Kleenex. I don't know why, but her room just looks so grown up to me now, no signs of the baby that used to sleep there.
Now this is my little ballerina! She started dance class on Tuesday and she loves it. Mostly I think she just loves her dance outfit and the ballet shoes. The class consists of two other little girls and two teachers, pretty good ratio. They do ballet, tap, tumbling, and creative movement (whatever that means). I can watch her on a little t.v. screen during class. Babies are cute and fat, and sweet, but having a big girl is so exciting.

On another note, the past two nights have not been good sleep for this little lady. Two nights ago I awoke to a horror film type scream, which woke Anil out of sleep screaming too! Nothing gets your heart pounding in the middle of the night like your kid screaming, I half expected to find a giant monster standing in her room when I ran in. She calmed down pretty easily and I slept in her bed for a little while, waking up around 6am and moving back into my bed just in time for Anil's alarm clock to go off at 6:30. Last night no blood curdling screaming (thank gosh), just crying for mama. Well this morning we talked about it and she told me she's scared of her ceiling fan. The fan is usually running, but recently has not been because it's cooled off some. She told me the fan has two big googly eyes. Conclusion: the fan will probably run all winter long.

I'm proud of the hard work you put into this project. I never thought you would get all of the stickers off that you and Steff put on it. Love the "big girl" in her dancing duds. Can't wait for a recital.haha

Love the dresser and the ballerina! I am sure she loves dance class - that girl has some awesome moves.

And I thought Monsters only lived under beds and in closets, thanks for sharing the info ;) Mala looks like a prima ballerina!
