Unfortunately I was not the one that got to snap these pictures, but we do get to see him on facetime frequently :)

The west coast is keeping us busy!  A few weeks ago we headed to Sixes, Oregon about 1.5hrs up the coast for a weekend concert featuring Brad Paisley, Dierks Bentley, and Eric Church, among lots of other country artists.  We camped, or as we like to call it, glamped.  Our campsite included our own private porta-potty and electricity!  We had such a great time and the girls had a blast too.  The sleeping situation was nothing to write home about, but if you just keeping drinking coffee until it's 5 o'clock you do ok!

After our concert weekend, we had a weekend here in Brookings enjoying time with our friends that have a farm.  The girls love their house because they have lots of baby bunnies that need to be held ;) and goats that need plenty of attention.  Anil and I love going there because we get to sit around the fire pit while the girls play with animals.  The girls and I also attended an amazing princess party that was super fancy.  The girls racked up tons of princess booty including homemade tulle dresses.

This past weekend we headed to Eugene with "Wobert" as Meena calls him, Anil's dentist colleague to visit college friends.  It was a super relaxing weekend.  My favorite part was the brewery on a farm that had a playground and kiddie pools for the girls.

The first picture is of Safety City, Mala attended, held at her school.  Anything and everything about safety was taught at this program for kids about to enter kindergarten.  They even got to ride the school bus.  Mala had a blast and continues to tell me safety rules on a daily basis.

Our summer is winding down.  Mala is starting school in a few weeks...I can't believe it.  We are in the throws of buy school supplies.

I've also gotten hired by the same clinic Anil works for and will be starting that in a few weeks for part time.  We are going to having a lot of changes in the Kumar household, but looking forward to them...also feeling a little sad.  I've really started to enjoy this stay at home mom thing.  After Mala starts school I feel like our lives will be changed forever!
A few things about Meena:
she calls her polka dot shirt (her favorite shirt) her "coconut shirt"
she said "Hey little pirate" to a lady with a patch over her eye in the DMV
she's told me "I'll make you happy mommy" on a few occasions, out of the blue, not sure where this comes from.
A few things about Mala:
She's finished reading all her early reader Bob books and is on to some other early readers
She is my little cleaner and helps me clear the table after dinner
She doesn't seem too phased about starting school even though it seems like it's all anybody talks about in town :)
She has some sarcastic zingers in response to her sister's random statements, example:
Meena: I'm Ariel!!  Where's my Ariel?  Where's my Ariel?  
Mala: soooo, you're looking for yourself? (highly irritated tone)

And lastly, my nephew is the cutest!  He is crawling all over the place and contemplating climbing the stairs.  When I talk on the phone with mom and Steph he is always jabbering in the background.  We love getting to see him on facetime, even when he tries to eat the ipad.  Wishing I lived close enough to kiss his little cheeks everyday.
